Sunrise In Trenton Ontario

Good morning to all. These are pictures of the sunrise as seen through my window this morning, taken moments apart. I hope you like the borders I used to enhance their magnitude. I cannot do much about the wires that cross in front of your view. Maybe I will try to be out somewhere with a clear shot of the sun as it makes its presence known another time.

An Empty Beer Can And A Sodden Clump Of Tissues...

were what I had beside me after watching the Olympic Canadian Women's hockey and curling teams respectively this afternoon. Both the Women's Olympic Hockey Team and Jennifer Jones' Olympic curlers won gold medals in their sports. I feel very proud to be a Canadian today. It was an emotional roller coaster ride.

The hockey game seemed lost to the USA well into the 3rd period of the match, Canada down by two goals. The announcer stated that something would have to happen to get Canada moving.

Shortly after that, Hayley Wickenheiser did just that. She got Canada moving by getting a breakaway and forcing a USA player to take a penalty by bringing her down before she could reach the net. From there, the momentum shifted in Canada's favour right up to that moment in the overtime period when Marie-Philip Poulin scored the winning goal.

That's when the damp tissues were created, by sopping up the copious amounts of tears I shed in happy relief. The beer was my celebration drink.

In curling, Jennifer Jones and her team went through the Olympic tournament 10-0. Jennifer left no doubt after her team's decisive defeat of Sweden in the gold medal match that she is probably the best female curler in the world at this moment.

Tomorrow, Friday, 21 February 2014, Canada's men's hockey team will play USA for the gold medal. Go Guys Go!

Sunny Saturday

The weather has been mild as of late and I am enjoying the part where it doesn't snow and the sunshine is feeling good.

I went out with a girlfriend to a Valentine's Day dance at the legion. I actually got up and did a song with the band, The Reasons.

I sang the Patsy Cline version of 'Crazy'. I decided to go for it as you only live once and this chance may not have come again.

I am also including a photograph of a cardinal who kept trying to go through the glass on my sister's patio. I think there was a reflection that showed the trees in the background and the bird thought it was more bush instead of a window.

He is a beautiful bird to see in the black and white of winter.

The moon is almost full and I took this picture with my phone the other night.

Just a look for you into the last few days of activity here in Trenton Ontario.

Frosty Winter Morning

It's a sunny cold morning in Trenton today. Here's a shot of the sunrise through the willow tree out front.

It has snowed almost every day for the past two weeks and I didn't want to bore anyone with more pictures of snow. I wasn't exactly housebound, but the weather was not conducive for many activities beyond the home.

Frost on tree branches and dried mountain ash berries makes beautiful pictures.

As soon as the first hints of spring are out there, I assure you I will have pictures of any signs.

I have been active in recording some new songs. I have a link to my latest song video. It's called Follow Your Arrow by Kasey Musgraves, pictured below holding her Grammy Awards for 2014.

Kasey is a new artist on the country scene and I hope she sticks around. Check out my version to the right and enjoy!
